NukaKamma Hospitality School

Addo African Home Eco Lodge established the NukaKamma Talent Development Center (NTDC), a hospitality school aimed at alleviating poverty by creating new job opportunities and improving living conditions for local communities through professional training.

NTDC is a non-profit organization founded on a unique hospitality school concept developed by NHS Training.

NukaKamma focuses on training young people who have left school without completing their studies, offering technical skills in hospitality and entrepreneurship. We currently offer training in four specialties: cooking, service en salle, bakery, and accommodation services.

Our mission is to teach and certify young people from townships, providing them with valuable skills for life while supporting hotels and lodges with qualified staff. We aim to address the growing issue of youth unemployment in South Africa by filling the skills gap in the hospitality sector, particularly in townships where hotel schools are largely inaccessible.

NukaKamma fosters cultural exchange between South Africa, France, and other countries that align with the organization’s goals. International chefs spend 8-10 days in residence at NukaKamma, sharing their expertise with the students.

Our 12-month ‘learning by doing’ program combines practical experience, theoretical learning, and guidance from international chefs. By the end, students graduate as SETA-certified professionals. The program is designed for disadvantaged youth who wish to pursue careers in hospitality or start their own businesses, contributing to the local economy.
